Our story started in 1981 when our founder opened a cart on Church Street in Burlington, Vermont and began selling Teddy Bears that he made in his garage. Almost four decades later, our Bears continue to be best friends, a part of the family and beloved heirlooms. Each one of our meticulously-designed, artisan, handcrafted Bears is guaranteed for a lifetime. Vermont Teddy Bears make the perfect gifts for men, women and children for any occasion, from holidays to new babies and everything in between.
As a company, the attention to detail and care we put into our Bears extends to all aspects of our business. We believe in our inherent corporate responsibility to give back, whether it’s the 100% recycled stuffing used in each Bear, our Little Hero Program® that provides first responders with Bears to give to children in crisis situations, or the ability to grow your own tomatoes in the company garden each summer.
When you turn into our driveway, you are greeted by a wide-open campus that stretches for acres. As you approach the front of our building, you are welcomed by maple trees, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs and our signature rainbow-colored silo and timber frame style-building.
Whether visiting with families, groups or individuals, all visitors enter our building through our Bear Shop, which features our Bears, Vermont-made products, and an area where you can create your own Bear. You’ll want to take a tour of our factory, with one of our Bear Ambassadors who will guide you through a fun, informative tour where you’ll watch our small group of craftspeople creating our Bears by hand, one-by-one. You’ll even see our Bear Hospital, where you'll get to meet our Bear Doctor. Celebrate your birthday at the magical place where Vermont Teddy Bears are born!
